Brilliant museum, very interesting and diverse history, lots to see and hear. Friendly, helpful staff, 10/10!!
Nice permanent exhibition of the island's history paired with temporary gallery space and cafe. The library is an excellent resource for genealogists, amateur historians and legal research with great advice and assistance from very helpful staff.
Excellent museum. Free entry. Lots of exhibits. Even a few motorbikes from the Manx gp. Always worth a visit. Cafe on site.
The Manx Museum is, given the small population of the IoM, an extremely well laid out & interesting museum to visit. The collections are small, obviously, but well curated and cover a wide variety of aspects of Manx life through the ages. There are regular changes in topics in the temporary galleries and they seem to always be worth a sight. The tea room is pleasant and in keeping with the feel of the museum. Downstairs is a portion of exhibition on rural Manx life that hasn't changed in a lifetime, and all the better for it as it manages to convey the Island's rural roots very clearly. Well worth just nipping in or stopping for a longer visit.
Great museum to learn about the island. Very informative, with clear path to go through, no guide required. It is free to visit, but you can always give a donation. A rich history.
