On our visit there were some activities laid on for kids, the best part of which was an actor playing the role of Keats, wandering round the house talking to visitors. I think this really helped to bring the place alive. My daughter and her friend loved asking him questions, which I did my best to steer toward the intelligent, although inevitably it occasionally veered off into the charmingly inane world of 6 year old children. I couldn't help but be amused by listening to the girls discussing with the great poet who they were going to be inviting to their birthday parties and so on.
Sad, unbearably sad story. I hope that they are having good events here because just as a monument to a young poet who lodged here for barely a year it seems so weird to keep it in aspic.
A fab place poetry full on. Get a feel about Keats. Can sit in living room overlooking garden where he spent convalescence.Worth a visit on a Sunday afternoon
Amazing! What a great exhibition. You don't need more than an hour or two put aside to see this place. Well worth the visit.
Been there at least 5 times. Always got the shivers. The poetry, the tragedy. House is not big but you can easily spend 2 hours visiting - don't forget to sit on a bench and enjoy the beautiful gardens (tips: entry of the gardens is free).
