Great wildlife park. Serene and peaceful. Animals well looked after with plenty of space. Nice day out with the family. I would definitely recommend.
This is a really beautiful place to visit and although it is very popular, there is so much to see and do that it really does not cause problems. The park is based around a stately home and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We visited last summer and the plants and flowers were spectacular. The animal areas are a mix of traditional cages and safari style open fields. The difference here is that you walk around the park or take the little train; there is no drive in area.The plus is that the big (and more docile) animals like rhino and giraffe are right there in front of you at times. The big cats are harder to see as you are watching through a screen but the compounds are natural looking. Loads to see in the smaller animal areas and check out the feeding timetable as there are chances to get a bit closer to some of the animals. As with all these parks, it is worth revisiting areas if you have time as the animals can be much more lively at different times. Some are just naturally inclined to hide so you have to be patient.
Love this place. The animals seem really well looked after and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There is a huge amount of variety in the animals that they have here and some are really impressive - lions, giraffes and rhinos to name a few. They all have plenty of space to roam around and also have inside areas for when it is cold.I have been here twice now and wouldn't hesitate to go again. I think the price is pretty reasonable too.I would recommend swinging by the penguins during their feed as it is fun to watch!
We had a lovely time here exploring as a family - but bring your own food (it was all reminiscent of school dinners) and some of the enclosures seem a bit small for the animals but I am by NO means an expert so . You can get up close to the animals and its a great day out with little ones. The shop seems a bit tired and over staffed - who werent all that helpful, and despite paying 16 each for adult entry, you still need to buy a map for 2.50 which just seems a bit cheap. I would, however, definitely still recommend it for people/families that are spending time in the area and for whom a country walk is a bit tricky.
Best family day out!! Kids loved it. Definitely wear comfortable walking shoes/trainers as it's a massive place. You could spend all day there. Plenty of places to rest of even picnics. The animals were looked after well. Keepers were very knowledgeable and interactive with the kids. Very clean. Cafe is serving up a good choice menu. menu been to many wildlife parks. This one is the one I would consider first. Highly recommended!
